They were discovered rather late in editing because the game apparently handles items that aren’t purchased differently from items already purchased. There’s some spillover text in some areas of the base camp. Given that you’re probably all major fans of the series, we hope that you won’t need to read too much of that text to figure out what stuff does. The formatting correction was lost in a harddrive crash, and we haven’t gone back and fixed them yet. The tutorial text has some serious formatting problems. Copy the patched ISO back onto your PSP and launch it. This will convert the ISO into a patched ISO, and will back up the previous ISO with a new. It may look like it’s not doing anything, but it is. Do NOT close any windows that pop up during the patching progress. Drag and drop your ISO into the patch.cmd file inside the zip folder. Then just copy that ISO file to your computer then unmount the drive pressing the note key again.ģ. The plugin will automatically make the ISO that you can mount as a virtual drive in a Windows OS. Once the above step is done, simply run the game and then press the note key at the game’s title screen, while a USB cord is attached to your PC and the PSP. Here is where you can get Neuron’s umd_dump_simple.prx plugin: Must have umd_dump_simple.prx copied into your plugin folder ( ms0:/SEPLUGINS/) and add this line to GAME.TXT: ms0:/seplugins/umd_dump_simple.prx 1 Different CFWs may have different methods, but one method will be to change the USB Device from “Memory Stick” to “UMD Disc” on the CFW menu, which will allow your computer to access the ISO file. Use the CFW to convert the UMD into an ISO file onto your computer. Get an ISO of the game, whether through ripping it yourself from the UMD, or converting your PSN copy. This is a simple guide that will help you install the CFW. This will be basically opening up a file on the memory stick as a regular PSP firmware update and installing that. You will need to install custom firmware (CFW) onto your PSP. The patch requires at least 4GB of open space on your computer, Java, and the windows. Please note that right now, this patch will only support Valkyria Chronicles 3: Extra Edition because of memory limitations in the original version. Here are the general instructions on how to use the patch. With a group of others, I've created a menu patch. Please see the patch and download instruction page for the download link. Valkyria Chronicles 3 re-translation The recent announcement of Valkyria Chronicles 4 made me think of Valkyria Chronicles 3 again. Credits go to the original translators and Discord user who noticed my old post and had technically fixed it years ago without a public release, but saw I had mentioned his work on the forums.Edit: This post was the original release post and a newer version has been uploaded. I only had 2/3 success installing via QCMA, what worked was switching CHOVY to Compressed mode. (should work in Adrenaline and emulators as well, but not tested) Install with CHOVY-SIGN, I suggest the v2, since v3 wasn't working for me. Run the xdelta.bat against the ISO, or use a patching program of your choice that accepts xdelta. Me ga.nz/file/Y89GmBpQ#9E6H0iSBC7Uhl6r5zzm32-d3IxVOWDOtTrVVr2kFUXk Senjou no Valkyria 3 - Extra Edition Japan.iso So this is a 700MB xdelta3 patch to a 1.4GB file, but the original translation clocks in at a whopping 1.7GB, so there are some space savings there. Correctly identified as ULJM-05957 (Extra Edition) now, which fixes (or breaks) cheats depending on your perspective.ĭownsides are that an encrypted archive doesn't compress very well, beyond the compression already done to it by the archive format(cpk). Gets rid of the hacky method they used to load an unencrypted archive with all the localization assets. I've repacked the V2 translation into a "mostly proper" ISO, which should work on the vast majority of hardware and emulators. Now, the game already worked and still works on Adrenaline and some other emulators, as well as various CFW PSPs. Tried a few things, then gave it up, since it wasn't working and I didn't know why. The short answer is that it can be done, but is a little tedious and requires the original translators to have done everything correctly. And got curious about installing translation projects on the Vita through it. Which is a way to install PSP games from ISO on unhacked Vitas. So, back in 2013/2014 Valkyria Chronicles 3 got an English translation, by the fine folks at:Ī few years back, I was helping some of the fine folks at CBPS test a project called CHOVY-SIGN.
